Short answer: Namecheap Shared Hosting includes domain-based email through cPanel, but EasyWP managed WordPress hosting does not include a standard email service with every plan. Buying only a domain also does not give you a full mailbox. The right answer therefore depends on which Namecheap product you are considering.
If you want an address such as you@yourdomain.com, this guide explains what is included, what may cost extra, and which setup is likely to fit your needs. Product details were checked against official Namecheap pages on August 27, 2026 and can change.

Shared Hosting includes cPanel email
Namecheap’s Shared Hosting plans combine website hosting and domain-based email inside the same cPanel account. This means you can create addresses using a domain connected to the hosting account and access them through webmail or a compatible email application.
The current Shared Hosting page lists 30 mailboxes with Stellar and unlimited mailboxes with Stellar Plus and Stellar Business. “Unlimited” does not mean without rules: the service remains subject to Namecheap’s hosting policies, resource limits and acceptable-use requirements. Namecheap’s comparison of cPanel email and Private Email also states that email storage on Shared Hosting cPanel accounts must not exceed the applicable 10 GB email-storage limit.
For a freelancer, small business or personal site that needs a modest number of addresses, included cPanel email can reduce the need for a separate email subscription. Typical examples might include contact@, support@, billing@ or an individual team member’s address.
What cPanel email gives you
- Mailboxes using your connected domain
- Webmail access
- SMTP, IMAP and POP3 support for compatible mail applications
- Email forwarders, autoresponders and filters available through cPanel
- Mailbox management alongside your website, files and domains
This bundled setup is convenient, but it ties email administration to the hosting account. If you later move the website, you must plan the email migration too. Storage, sending limits and collaboration features may also differ from a dedicated business-email product.
EasyWP does not include standard email hosting
EasyWP is Namecheap’s managed WordPress service, and its product structure is different from cPanel Shared Hosting. Namecheap’s official comparison states that EasyWP hosting plans do not include email service as a standard feature. If you choose EasyWP and want a domain-based inbox, you generally need a separate email provider or a separate Namecheap Private Email subscription.
Namecheap may show a Business Email promotion for certain qualifying EasyWP purchases. At the time of checking, the official EasyWP pricing information described a Business Email Launch offer for new yearly or bi-yearly Turbo and Supersonic purchases. It included one default mailbox, applied only to a new Business Email purchase and did not cover renewals. That is a separate promotional offer—not proof that every EasyWP plan always includes email.
This distinction matters because the EasyWP website can still send WordPress notifications or contact-form messages when configured correctly, but sending a website notification is not the same as receiving and storing messages in a business mailbox. A contact form may require an SMTP plugin and an existing mailbox or third-party sending service.

A Namecheap domain alone does not include a full inbox
Domain registration gives you control of a web address. It does not automatically create an inbox. This is a common source of confusion because the same company sells domains, hosting and email, but those products can be purchased separately. If you are budgeting for the domain itself, our Namecheap registration and renewal cost guide explains the first-year and later pricing.
Namecheap offers free email forwarding for eligible domains using supported DNS settings. Forwarding can redirect a message sent to an address at your domain to another inbox, but it is not the same as a hosted mailbox with its own storage, webmail and outgoing-mail configuration. If you want to send and receive as your domain reliably, choose cPanel email, Private Email or another dedicated email provider.
cPanel email vs Namecheap Private Email
Both options can provide a professional address at your domain, but they solve slightly different problems. If you are also weighing Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, or Zoho Mail for several users, use our business email cost calculator to compare estimated team costs and workflow fit.
Choose included cPanel email when:
- You already want Namecheap Shared Hosting
- You need basic business or personal mailboxes without another subscription
- You are comfortable managing website and email from the same cPanel account
- Your storage and sending needs fit the hosting limits
Consider Private Email when:
- You use EasyWP, another host or only a Namecheap domain
- You want email kept separate from the website-hosting account
- You need a dedicated email product with plan-based mailbox storage
- You value collaboration features that are not part of basic cPanel email
- You expect to move or change web hosting without moving email at the same time
Namecheap’s Private Email plans use different mailbox counts and storage allowances. Because pricing and promotions can change, check the current Private Email plan table rather than relying on an old price quoted elsewhere.
Which Namecheap plan makes the most sense?
For the lowest-cost all-in-one setup: Stellar Shared Hosting can be practical when you need a small website plus up to 30 email accounts. It keeps website and email management together.
For several websites or more mailboxes: Stellar Plus adds unlimited websites and unlimited mailboxes, subject to the plan’s policies. It also includes AutoBackup, which may matter more than mailbox count for many site owners.
For managed WordPress simplicity: EasyWP may be the better hosting experience if you do not want cPanel, but budget separately for email. Do not choose EasyWP on the assumption that a full business inbox is automatically bundled.
For email independence: A separate Private Email or third-party email service lets the mailbox remain in place if you change web hosts. This can simplify future website moves.

Costs and limits to check before buying
- Renewal pricing: introductory hosting prices and later renewal rates are different.
- Mailbox allowance: Stellar lists 30 mailboxes; higher Shared Hosting tiers list unlimited mailboxes under applicable policies.
- Email storage: cPanel email uses the hosting environment and has stated storage limits.
- Sending limits: Shared Hosting plans restrict the number of messages that can be sent per hour and the number of recipients per message.
- EasyWP promotions: a temporary Business Email offer may have plan, term, household and renewal restrictions.
- Migration: moving a website does not automatically mean every mailbox and message is transferred.
Frequently asked questions
Does Namecheap Stellar include email?
Yes. The current Stellar Shared Hosting plan lists up to 30 mailboxes through cPanel.
Does Namecheap Stellar Plus include email?
Yes. Stellar Plus currently lists unlimited mailboxes, subject to Namecheap’s hosting policies, resource rules and email-storage limits.
Does EasyWP include a business email address?
Not as a standard feature of every EasyWP plan. Email normally requires a separate service. Certain qualifying EasyWP purchases may display a separate promotional Business Email offer, so verify the exact checkout terms.
Can I use Gmail with a Namecheap domain?
Yes, but registering the domain does not by itself create a Gmail mailbox. You would need an appropriate email service and DNS configuration. Depending on the setup, you can connect a Namecheap-hosted mailbox to an email application or use a separate provider such as Google Workspace.
Is free email forwarding the same as email hosting?
No. Forwarding redirects incoming mail to another address. A hosted mailbox stores messages and provides its own incoming and outgoing email service.
Bottom line
Namecheap Shared Hosting includes cPanel email, while EasyWP and domain-only registration generally require a separate mailbox solution. The best choice depends on whether you prefer an inexpensive all-in-one account or want website hosting and email kept separate.
